This is the famous Jim "Flash" Sawyer.  Spend 2 minutes around him and you'll know how he earned his nickname.  Super-great guy.  If you need the shirt he's wearing, he'll give it to you in a "flash".

Flash is on miata #3.  His first miata was a '90 Silver with a FMII turbo, along with MANY other mods (pictured below).

Near the end of the 2002 autocross season, Jim found a '93 LE in outstanding condition.  Enter Miata #2.  The winter of 2002/2003 was spent transplanting many of the mods from the '90 silver to the '93 LE black.  The transformation is complete (both cars are now on the road; silver one has been sold to the new owner, destined for a GM 350 V8 conversion). WHAT A CAR!!!

Below are a few shots of the Lexington Miata Club group giving Flash a hand.

3/2/03 Update... New PAV Racing nose and bodywork is complete.  The pictures just don't do the car justice.  This car is one of a kind.

VERY, VERY UNFORTUNATE NEWS...

On the evening of July 3rd, 2003, Jim had an unfortunate accident with his 93LE, apparently trying to avoid hitting a parked car which was partially in the road.  Miata vs. stone wall.  Miata lost.  Jim and his girlfriend Sherri are ok but quite banged up.  Both occupants had their seat belts on.  The car, however, is not so lucky.  Below are a few pics of this unfortunate tragedy.

The car was totaled big time.  The damage was NASTY!  We're all glad that Jim and Sherri survived.  It was THAT serious!  Now, it's time to build things up again.  Everyone pulled together to salvage items from the car and begin the next chapter...

ENTER 1994 Black/Tan POWER MONSTER!  Think 6 million dollar man, but in the form of a miata...

"Miata Enthusiast.
A man barely alive...

We can rebuild it.
We have the technology.
We can make it better than it was.
Better.
Stronger.
Faster than it was.
"

It WILL happen.
