Mazdaspeed Engine Mounts

While I had my car apart working on several winter projects, I decided to give the Mazdaspeed engine mounts a try.  At the time of this writing, the winter project is still in limbo so I haven't had an opportunity to try out the mounts just yet.  Visual inspection doesn't really show much.  If anything, the Mazdaspeed mounts look like they use polyurethane while the stock ones use some sort of rubber.

The reason I wanted to try these was to reduce engine movement and improve "drivetrain tightness".  I've heard mixed reviews on these so it's sort of a gamble.  Some have indicated an increase in drivetrain NVH (Noise/Vibration/Harshness).  However, since my miata is becoming more of a dedicated autocrosser/track lapper/toy car and less of a daily driver, I'm open to consider a few tradeoffs for performance.  Time will tell if these work out ok.

4/23/2007 update: Over 4 years later........ These mounts are working just fine for me.  My miata was driven in several autocrosses and a few track events since the install.  Now it is mostly a street hot-rod to and from work.  The more rigid motor mounts transmit a bit more engine NVH to the chassis, but I did not find it unappealing.  It just gives the car more of a "race car" feel.  If that is what you are after, then you will be happy with them.  Honestly, they aren't *that* different; they just transmit a little more NVH.
